Upon signing a Concession Agreement with the Ministry of Energy on 11.01.1999, Operating Rights of units 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the power plant and the mine sites providing coal to units 1 and 2 were transferred to Park Termik. Costs were decreased and productivity was increased with the investments in mine and power plants.
Park Termik has realized the planned targets earlier than estimated and provided significant contributions to the economic vision of Turkey.
With increased productivity upon privatization, Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant has increased its capacity use ratio from 48 percent to 81 percent. By increasing the daily production capacity of the coal mine from 500 tons to 7,000 tons, it has proved to be the first and best privatization project in Turkey.
Park Termik, which is always listed in the 500 Largest Industrial Organizations of Turkey’s Listing of Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) every year, was listed as the 148th company in 2010. The company was also listed as one of the tax champions, paying the highest corporate tax in Ankara.
