The plant comprises of four units, the 1st and 2nd units have an output of 150 MW each, while the 3rd and 4th units have an output of 160 MW each.

On the date 11.01.1999, by means of Contract of Concession with Ministry of Energy, units 1, 2, 3, and 4 and mine fields that provide coal to units 1 and 2 handed over to Park Thermic with Transfer of Operating Rights. Thanks to the investments on mine and power plants, costs have been reduced and productivity has been increased.

By performing the planned targets before due time, this privatization has made great contributions to economical vision of Turkey.

Following the privatization, in Çayırhan Thermic Power Plant productivity has been increased, and capacity usage has risen from 48% to 81%. Daily coal production has been increased from 500 tones to 7 thousand tones and it has been proved that it is the first and the best privatization project in Turkey.

Park Thermic was placed in 136th position among the list of "Türkiye's 500 Large Industrial Establishments", which was published by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry in the year 2007 and 159th in the year 2008.
